We have frequent discussions with our allies and partners, including the US Government, about our respective efforts to resettle eligible, vulnerable Afghan citizens. It is for each country to establish their own arrangements for processing those they deem eligible for resettlement, including crucial security checks.

To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of any impact of the reintroduction of sanctions on Iran by the United States on refugee and migration flows from Iran.
The second set of US unilateral sanctions on Iran came into full force on 5 November. We consider it is therefore too soon to be able to fully assess the impact of the reintroduction of these sanctions on refugee and migration flows from Iran. However, Iran continues to be a significant source of migrants to the UK. Its economy has suffered from high inflation and a significant decline in the currency value this year.

During the recent visit to the UK by President Trump, the Prime Minister made clear in her joint press conference with the President that the UK has a proud history of welcoming people who flee persecution. The Prime Minister has previously been clear that the separation of children from their parents at the US border was disturbing and wrong. President Trump has now signed an Executive Order aimed at ending the separation policy and US authorities are in the process of implementing this change.

The Prime Minister was clear that the separation of children from their parents at the border was disturbing and wrong. President Trump has now signed an Executive Order aimed at ending the separation policy and US authorities are in the process of implementing this change. Of course, we hope the children will soon be reunited with their families.

To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions they have had with the government of (1) the United States, and (2) the Republic of Korea, to coordinate international efforts to secure the release of ten North Korean escapees currently detained in China.
The UK has had no recent formal exchanges with the United States or the Republic of Korea on this issue.
We are concerned that China continues to regard North Koreans fleeing the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) as economic migrants and returns them to North Korea, rather than as refugees under the 1951 refugee convention. Despite claims by the DPRK authorities that forcibly repatriated refugees are well treated and reintegrated into DPRK society, reports suggest that they are often mistreated by the authorities.
