Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, when the detailed information on foot and mouth bio-security available on the MAFF website was circulated to farmers in hard copy form.

Answer: David Maclean: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs when the detailed information on foot and mouth bio-security available on the MAFF website was circulated to farmers in hard copy form. [5243] Mr. Morley: Biosecurity information was first mailed to all farmers in England on 5 March 2001. This was supplemented by further information contained in mailings on 12 April, 21 April, and 17 May. All information was posted on the MAFF website at the time of mailing. The `Stopping the Spread' of disease campaign material (video and leaflet), which forms the core of the biosecurity information currently featured on the DEFRA website, was mailed on 6 July.
