ICELAND FROZEN FOODS CLOSURE
That this House condemns the decision by Iceland Frozen Foods to close its Deeside distribution centre with the loss of up to 300 jobs; expresses disapproval at the proposed ??290 per year of service redundancy package; condemns Iceland Chairman Malcolm Walker's assertion that strike action is blackmail; notes that the Transport and General Workers' Union has taken a strong lead in resisting job losses; and calls on Iceland to treat employees and union negotiators with greater respect.
