There have been no recent discussions with Cabinet colleagues on this matter.

The Government and local authorities are continuing to support those who are asked to self-isolate in England as the result of a monkeypox diagnosis.
On 9 June 2022, the UK Health Security Agency published guidance for those self-isolating, including on how to reduce the spread of monkeypox within their household. Individuals who are unable to work because they have monkeypox may also be eligible for financial support in England. We will continue to keep this approach under review.

To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made, if any, of the economic impact on immunocompromised individuals who are continuing to shield due to COVID-19.
No specific assessment has been made. People designated as clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV) were advised to shield between 22 March 2020 to 15 September 2021. However, shielding is not current policy. Individuals previously considered as CEV include but are not limited to those who are immunocompromised.
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) recently conducted a survey of people previously considered to be CEV. In April 2022, the survey found that 46% were very or somewhat worried about the current effect of the pandemic on their life, with 25% reporting that the pandemic posed a major or significant risk to their mental health. The survey found that 29% were in paid employment, 7% reported they had lost income due to shielding or isolating and 20% worked from at home. Insights for those whose immune systems mean they continue to be at high risk from COVID-19 and who are continuing to shield will be included in a future ONS survey release in June 2022.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether financial support is available for employee's taking time off work to look after their children who have contracted covid-19 and are self-isolating.
The Test and Trace Support Payment scheme will end on 24 February 2022. A parent or guardian of a child who is required to self-isolate due to a positive test for COVID-19 on or before 23 February 2022 will have 42 days from the first day of the self-isolation period to submit a claim. A parent or guardian who meets the eligibility criteria of the main scheme or the discretionary scheme will receive the £500 support payment. A parent or guardian who is unable to work from home if their child tests positive for COVID-19 from 24 February 2022 may be eligible for other Government support.

Payments can be made using debit or credit cards via the booking portal administered by Corporate Travel Management (CTM). CTM also provides a call centre for travellers having difficulty or need additional assistance in making their booking.

When the red list changed on 7 October, there were 280 managed quarantine bookings made by COP26 participants through the bespoke COP26 booking system. We have engaged with all of the individuals that booked and gave a country of departure that is no longer on the red list.
The UNFCCC Trust Fund for Participants, to which the UK Government contributes, has paid for the costs of necessary flight changes for funded delegates.
We are continuing to fund managed quarantine stays for all COP26 participants, including party delegates, media and observers that would otherwise find it difficult to attend COP26.
