Comparable figures for my Department as it is now configured are not available for the years preceding the completion of devolution of policing and justice functions on 12 April 2010.
Since April 2010, my Department has not made any staff redundant.

It has been long standing policy for my Department to refer hon. Members to non-departmental public bodies when seeking information on operational matters. This reflects the fact that such bodies are both independent and best placed to answer such questions. It also makes sense that, when hon. Members seek information relating to a particular non-departmental public body, whose independence from Government is important, that hon. Members engage with that body direct, rather than to seek to do so through Ministers. The Northern Ireland Office has responsibility for two Executive non-departmental public bodies and one Advisory non-departmental public body, contact details for which are provided in the following table:

Hilary Jackson left the Northern Ireland Office on 31 December 2011. Hilary was a Ministry of Justice (MoJ) employee on loan to the NIO. The MoJ will hold the personal data about the cost of her departure as she left under an MoJ scheme. There were no costs to the NIO.
