The Secretary of State for Health, my right hon. Friend the Member for South West Surrey (Mr Hunt), has had no such discussions.
A three-year project on advanced antisense oligonucleotide technology for exon skipping in Duchenne muscular dystrophy started in March 2011. The Department is contributing £1.5 million to this project, with joint funding from the Wellcome Trust.

No UK projects have yet been approved for a guarantee at this stage. When a guarantee is issued, Parliament will be notified in the form of a written ministerial statement. However, details on the amount will remain confidential.
Two years ago, the UK Government announced that they would spend £50 million on the provision of new stock on the Caledonian sleeper to Scotland, and that the Scottish Government would match that with a further £50 million. It now appears that only £50 million will be made available, rather than £100 million, and that it will be spent partly on improving existing stock and partly on upgrading other railway lines in Scotland. What has happened to the funds that were promised by the UK and Scottish Governments?
Two years ago, the UK Government announced that they would spend £50 million on the provision of new stock on the Caledonian sleeper to Scotland, and that the Scottish Government would match that with a further £50 million. It now appears that only £50 million will be made available, rather than £100 million, and that it will be spent partly on improving existing stock and partly on upgrading other railway lines in Scotland. What has happened to the funds that were promised by the UK and Scottish Governments?
I have considerable sympathy with the hon. Gentleman’s point. [Interruption.] If the hon. Member for Garston and Halewood (Maria Eagle) keeps quiet, she will hear my answer. It is the same answer that I gave to the right hon. Member for Ross, Skye and Lochaber (Mr Kennedy) when he raised the issue. We provided the money so that it could be invested in that service, but the Scottish Government decided, in the short term, not to invest in it. We hope that they will divert the money back to the improvements for which it was intended.

Allocations for Crossrail were determined in the 2010 spending review. The Scottish Government received Barnett consequentials on the changes to the Department for Transport budget in the normal way as set out in the Statement of Funding Policy. No further allocations have been subsequently made for this project.

I have not had any recent discussions with members of the Scottish Government on student support.
Officials in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills routinely meet with officials in the devolved administrations to discuss student finance issues. Recent discussions have included matters of personal eligibility of students and this Department's recent public consultation on applying student number controls in England to alternative providers with designated courses.

Research Council funding is not allocated to different nations in advance but on the basis of peer-reviewed proposals.
Higher education institutes in Scotland have historically attracted around £356 million per year, from research councils, which amounts to 13% of research council awards (for around 8% of UK population).

The Department has not had any discussions with the Scottish Government with respect to patients resident in Scotland being referred to the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases NHS Foundation Trust.
The number and cost of such referrals is a matter for the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases NHS Foundation Trust. We have written to the trust's chair, Peter Franklyn, informing him of this enquiry. He will reply to the hon. Member shortly and a copy of the letter will be placed in the Library.

Yes, I can confirm that any application will go directly to the UK Treasury. If an application were made by one of the devolved areas, the Treasury would consider working with its counterparts in that area, but the decision would be made by the Treasury itself.
