That this House congratulates Chesterfield Borough Council on taking a lead on environmental issues by securing funding for the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Queen's Park Sports Centre harnessing the power of the sun and converting it into electricity; welcomes this as one of the biggest of 12 projects across Britain being given Government cash to demonstrate the potential of turning sunlight into sustainable energy; recognises that this project underlines Chesterfield's commitment to sustainability and making the world a better place for the generations still to come with its decision to provide the extra funding needed, in addition to funding the Dunston Innovation Centre's geothermal heating and cooling system and opposing the growing and use of genetically modified food; and supports Chesterfield Borough Council in its hope that projects such as this will stimulate interest and will encourage other people to consider similar installations.
