That this House regrets the inconclusive outcome of the Climate Change Conference in the Hague; notes with concern the increasingly apparent effects of climate change in the United Kingdom and abroad; recognises the positive role played by the United Kingdom Government in pressing for effective measures to combat climate change; urges the Government to make strenuous efforts with European Union partners to achieve agreement at Bonn in May; further notes the importance of influencing Presidential, Congressional and public opinion in the United States of America; and welcomes the T.5.20 campaign which targets the 5 per cent. of the world's population in the United States who produce 20 per cent. of the world emissions by urging United Kingdom parliamentarians to put pressure on their United States counterparts to work towards achieving a deal to tackle climate change.
