That this House expresses its serious concern at the dire state of music provision in Britain's schools where a recent study shows four out of five schools do not have enough musical instruments to go around two out of three schools blame poor funding for the shortages and three out of five schools say pupils have been denied the chance to learn to play an instrument; and, whilst warmly welcoming the Co-op stores Music for Schools initiative where Co-op customers can exchange shopper vouchers for free musical instruments, calls upon Her Majesty's Government to remedy this appalling shortage of musical instruments in schools immediately.
