As National Statistician, I have been asked to reply to your recent question asking how many drug-related deaths there were in (a)
Blyth Valley and (b) South Northumberland in each of the last five years. (202056)
Available figures relate to deaths from drug poisoning, not the total number that were drug-related. Figures are available for the
Shire County of Northumberland and local authorities within the county. The most recently available information is for deaths in
2002. Figures are shown in the table below for these areas for the calendar years 1998 to 2002.
