That this House notes with friendly acknowledgment that the United States of America marked its semiquincentennial on Saturday 4th July 2026; recognises that the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence is an important milestone for the people who call the United States of America home and for the special relationship between the UK and the US; further recognises the successful State Visit of their Majesties to the United States in April 2026, including the address to the joint session of Congress given by His Majesty the King; celebrates the strong ties of family and friendship that bind the two countries and peoples together; gives thanks to His Excellency Ambassador Warren Stephens, the United States Ambassador to the Court of St James, and Mrs Stephens for their work here in the UK to further the relationship and ties between our two nations; further notes the importance of being honest and open partners and the power of disagreeing without being disagreeable; and extends its very warmest good wishes to the people of the United States as they celebrate this historic milestone in their national story.

That this House regrets the decision taken by FIFA to overturn the suspension following a dismissal in the previous match given to Folarin Balogun of the USA; states its solidarity with the position of the Belgian FA that they are astonished by FIFA’s decision which is in contradiction of Article 66.4 of their disciplinary code; notes that the player was sent off as a result of a video assistant referee review; urges FIFA to explain why England’s Jarell Quansah will face a suspension following a video assistant referee review; and calls on them to issue a statement outlining how the two decisions are consistent and how the integrity of the competition can be maintained.

That this House expresses deep concern at FIFA's decision to suspend the automatic one match ban imposed on United States striker Folarin Balogun following reports that the decision came after political interference from President Donald Trump; believes that sporting decisions must be taken transparently, fairly and free from political influence; notes growing concern over FIFA's ticketing policies, including excessive prices that have left many lifelong supporters unable to afford to watch their national teams compete on the world's biggest stage; regrets that football, a game that should be accessible to all, is increasingly pricing ordinary fans out of attending international tournaments; and calls on FIFA to properly uphold the principles of sporting integrity, transparency and fair access for supporters while rooting out corruption in all its forms.

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, if he will make it his policy to seek closer trade relations between the Northern Ireland agri-food market and the US.
It already is our policy. Through negotiations on the Economic Prosperity Deal (EPD), the UK enjoys preferential trading terms with the US, supporting thousands of jobs and protecting key industries across the UK, including in Northern Ireland.
As of 1 January 2026, UK farmers can, for the first time, benefit from an exclusive 13,000 tonne quota for beef export to the US. In April, President Trump announced the removal of tariffs on UK whisky, exports to the US are worth around £1bn each year.
Discussions on the EPD are ongoing, and we continue to engage with Northern Ireland counterparts to ensure the deal delivers for Northern Ireland business.

That this House notes with concern the announcement on 8 May 2025 of the UK-US Trade Deal which significantly expands tariff-free access for US beef exports from 1,000 to 13,000 tonnes annually; further notes that while the Government has stated that sanitary and phytosanitary standards must be maintained, the deal does not address the lower animal welfare standards under which US beef is often produced; is concerned that the widespread use of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations in the US, involving intensive confinement, routine use of antibiotics, and limited environmental oversight, creates an unfair economic advantage over UK producers who operate under higher animal welfare, environmental, and food safety standards; and calls on the Government to ensure all future trade agreements do not undermine the animal or environmental standards of UK farmers to ensure fairness and food security.
