To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, if he will make an assessment of the potential impact of his policy to establish a Defence Innovation Agency on the work of the Defence and Security Accelerator regional innovation partner network.
Options are currently being assessed by senior MOD officials as to how any Defence Innovation Agency will impact the work of the Defence and Security Accelerator regional innovation partner network, however there is no desire to stop work that is currently providing exploitation routes from concept to military capability.
The International Atomic Energy Agency recently confirmed that Iran is once again ramping up its uranium enrichment activity to near weapons grade, so in welcoming today’s statement and the action we have taken, I also urge my right hon. Friend to give the House his assurance that he and his...

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Autumn Statement 2022, published on 17 November 2022, what recent progress his Department has made on (a) establishing and (b) allocating funding to the Advanced Technology Research Centre in Wales.
As detailed in the Autumn Statement, the UK Government will provide up to £10 million of support, subject to business case, to work collaboratively with the Welsh government to deliver a defence-focussed Advanced Technology Research Centre at Sealand in North Wales. The full business case for its funding allocation is nearing completion and working level engagement continues between the Ministry of Defence and the Welsh Government to implement the joint project.

My right hon. Friend is making a powerful speech and I commend him on how he has gone about bringing forward this new clause to close a specific loophole on public sector pensions. In the context of his point about the wider boycott, divestments and sanctions movement, does he agree...

I am listening closely to the hon. Member’s argument, but I am afraid I just do not accept the points he is trying to string together in what is a fairly strange argument. The reason this amendment is so important and the reason we do not expect council chambers to...

What discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Defence on that Department's operations relating to Wales.
I think that my hon. Friend is referring to an incident that took place only this weekend involving Cardiff Aviation. I have discussed the matter with the Welsh Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, Edwina Hart, and raised it with the Ministry of Defence. Clearly we have a shared interest with the Welsh Government in ensuring that commercial operations at St Athan are a success, and that is what we are working towards.

The success of the St Athan enterprise zone is dependent on access to the MOD runway. The Welsh Government seem to have over-promised and under-delivered on the seven-day access. What progress is being made to ensure that they can take responsibility, so that companies based in St Athan can make the most of the opportunities provided by this MOD asset?

Like a previous speaker, I have received not a single letter from any of my constituents urging me to vote with the Government tonight in favour of replacing Trident. However, not for one moment do I think that there is not a strong understanding in my constituency and throughout the...
