We regularly raise our concerns with the Israeli authorities about Israel's use of force in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what representations he has made to his Israeli counterpart on reports of Israeli forces firing tear gas canisters into a boys’ school in the Israeli-controlled H2 area of Hebron City on 9 April.

We have not made any assessment of this issue. While we recognise Israel's legitimate need to deploy security measures, we encourage them to deploy these in a way which minimises tension and use appropriate force. In instances where there have been accusations of excessive use of force, we have advocated swift, transparent investigations.

While we have not raised this specific issue with the Government of Israel, we regularly raise concerns about Israel's use of force in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. While we recognise Israel's legitimate need to deploy security measures, we encourage them to deploy these in a way which minimises tension and to use appropriate force. We have stressed in particular the need to protect children. In instances where there have been accusations of excessive use of force, we have advocated for swift, transparent investigations.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what steps he is taking to increase funding for schools in (a) Wigan and (b) the North West.
Funding for schools in the Wigan local authority has increased by 1.4% per pupil in 2019/20, compared to 2017/18 funding levels. This is equivalent to an extra £6.9 million in total, when rising pupil numbers are taken into account.
Funding for schools in the North West has increased by 2.8% per pupil in 2019/20, compared to 2017/18 funding levels. This is equivalent to an extra £245.6 million in total, when rising pupil numbers are taken into account.
Ministers and officials from the Department regularly meet head teachers. Funding is one of the Department’s top priorities and the Department is committed to securing the right deal for education in the next spending review.
