The trials completed in January 2014 and the data are still being analysed, therefore the results are not yet available.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD), with MBDA support, is currently planning to conduct trials into the feasibility of integrating Brimstone onto remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) in the autumn of 2013. The MOD is not developing a prototype Brimstone missile for use on a US RPAS. I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on 15 May 2013, Official Report, column 222W, to the hon. Member for Moray (Angus Robertson).

11 in-service UK weapons systems have been acquired through the US Foreign Military Sales system. Of these, three have been tested in the US at an overall cost of £16.6 million.

We are currently working with the US Air Force's Big Safari Group to establish and agree the details of the test requirements and expect trials to proceed in the autumn. I am withholding information on cost estimates as their disclosure would prejudice commercial interests.
