ministers have met in their official capacity since 21 May 1997 who have or had donated £5,000 or more to the Labour Party in the

Mr. Dewar: [holding answer 25 November 1997]:
The Labour Party's policy on disclosure is to declare the identity of any individual or organisation which, in the course of one
calendar year, makes donations in the aggregate in excess of £5,000. Donations made during 1997 will be declared in 1998. Therefore,
the following information refers to qualifying donors in 1995 and 1996.
Scottish Office Ministers have met representatives of Unison, the Mirror Group, the Daily Record, the AEEU, the FBU, the GMB and the
T&GWU. Ministers have also had meetings with Geoffrey Robinson MP, in his capacity as Paymaster General.

Mr. Swinney: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much he has budgeted for expenditure on refurbishing (a) official
residences occupied by Scottish Office Ministers and (b) Scottish Office properties. [7745]
Mr. Dewar: [holding answer 14 July 1997]: Under current public expenditure plans total provision for refurbishment work over the
next three years is as follows: (a) Bute house, which provides occasional accommodation for Ministers--£35,000. This budget is for
replacing some of the furniture originally provided on loan by the National Trust for Scotland as these pieces will be recalled by
the original owners later this year. (b) Scottish Office properties--£6,515,300. The figure excludes the operational assets of the
Scottish Prison Service, the Scottish Court Service and Historic Scotland. Most of the expenditure in fact relates to the
refurbishment of St. Andrew's House--£6 million.

Mr. Wallace: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his policy with regard to the funding of Scottish Homes for the
remainder of the present financial year. [87]
Mr. Dewar: [holding answer 19 May 1997]: I can confirm that Scottish Homes grant in aid for 1997-98, as set out in "The Government's
Expenditure Plans 1997-98 to 1999-2000", is £264.899 million.
I am making an additional £1 million available for the Scottish Rough Sleepers Initiative this year. Because this Initiative is
funded through Scottish Homes, this extra money will be added to Scottish Homes' grant in aid.
