Proceeding contribution from Baroness Berridge (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 20 May 2025. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee of the Whole House (HL) on Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill
Before the noble Baroness sits down, I would be grateful if she would outline the response—maybe she needs to write to me—on the specific situation that I raised in relation to special guardianship orders. I recognise that there is a best-interest test, but, as the main clause of the Bill reads at the
moment, parents with that limited parental responsibility are covered by the duty and it would be good to have some clarification.
