Proceeding contribution from Lord Clarke of Nottingham (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 13 June 2023. It occurred during Debate on bill on Financial Services and Markets Bill.

Financial Services and Markets Bill

I will not make a speech giving my experience of American Express, but it is remarkably like that of my noble friends Lord Trenchard and Lord Forsyth. I decided that I could not be bothered with such outrageous burdens being

placed on me. Having had my card from some time in the 1970s, I have allowed them to cancel it. Having heard of my noble friend’s experience, I am rather glad that I just let it go and reverted to using my Barclays visa card on all occasions.
