To ask the Secretary of State for Education what recent progress his Department has made on enabling community sports clubs to advertise their activities in schools.

We believe that it is for individual schools to choose what activities they promote. However schools are encouraged to work closely with their local community clubs to provide sporting opportunities for their pupils both in and out of school.
To help support this, Sport England is investing £9 million between 2013 and 2016 to recruit at least one club link maker in each county sport partnership. Their role will be assist national governing bodies of sport to develop satellite clubs in schools—helping pupils make the transition from school to community sport.
