Social Mobility Commission

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what the role and remit of the Social Mobility Commission will be upon appointment of its new Board.

Answer

The role and remit of the Social Mobility Commission is set out in legislation. There are no current plans to change the functions of the Commission and we intend to begin the public appointments process for a new Chair and Commissioners in due course.
