Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to the Answer of 17th January, 429 c773W, on benefit rates, if he will make it his policy to collect figures for the number of people in hospital for more than a year living on the weekly benefit rate of £15.90 who suffer from mental ill-health.

Answer: Lynne Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions pursuant to the answer of 17 January 2005, Official Report, column 773W, on benefit rates, if he will make it his policy to collect figures for the number of people in hospital for more than a year living on the weekly benefit rate of £15.90 who suffer from mental ill-health. [211954] Malcolm Wicks: We have no plans to collect information on hospital in-patients by type of illness because it is not relevant to the adjustment of their benefits.
