Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what discussions he has had with the local government of Havering regarding contingency plans in the event of an outbreak of SARS in that area.

Answer: Mr. Rosindell: To ask the Secretary of State for Health what discussions he has had with the local government of Havering regarding contingency plans in the event of an outbreak of SARS in that area. [111301] Ms Blears: All regions have existing plans in place for dealing with outbreaks of communicable diseases. There is also a national communicable disease outbreak and incident plan in preparation. As we learn more about severe acute respiratory syndrome we will be reviewing all contingency plans. It is important to stress that this is an evolving situation and we are constantly reviewing our plans as we learn more about the disease.
