Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what frameworks of support have been put in place by her Department for (a) heritage, (b) sport and (c) tourism; how much her Department has saved through these measures; and if she will make a statement.

Answer: Nick Harvey: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what frameworks of support have been put in place by her Department for (a) heritage, (b) sport and (c) tourism; how much her Department has saved through these measures; and if she will make a statement. [83758] Dr. Howells: We have conducted reviews of Sport England, English Heritage, and the British Tourist Authority as well as the framework of support for domestic tourism. We are now working with the bodies concerned on modernisation plans which should lead to improved value for money and significant savings, though it is not yet possible to quantify the savings. Plans for the reform of tourism structures were announced to Parliament on 13 May and 31 October 2002.
