Charlotte Atkins: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment how many pupils, in how many schools, (a) took and (b) passed the extension SATs papers for more able pupils in (i) 1996-97, (ii) 1997-98, (iii) 1998-99 and (iv) 1999-2000 at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, broken down by (A) private and (B) state schools.
