Mr. Wigley: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will provide statistical analysis of the professional background of those serving as school inspectors in England. [142585] Ms Estelle Morris: Information is not held centrally about all those who undertake inspection work in schools in England. Ofsted holds information about HM Inspectors of Schools and those who are registered or enrolled to conduct or assist with inspections of schools under section 10 of the School Inspections Act 1996. I have asked HM Chief Inspector of Schools in England, Mike Tomlinson, to write to the hon. Member and to place a copy of his letter in the Library.
