- To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families when he expects to (a) receive and (b) publish the executive summary of the serious case review into the Karen Matthews case in Kirklees.

[holding answer 8 February 2010]: Preparation of serious case reviews and publication of related executive summaries are matters for Local Safeguarding Children Boards, acting in accordance with statutory guidance. I understand that the Kirklees Safeguarding Children Board has undertaken a serious case review into the case mentioned and will publish the executive summary as soon as it is able.
