Building Schools for the Future

- To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills pursuant to the answer of 30 October 2006, Official Report, column 209W, how much of the £5.5 billion his Department allocated for schools capital investment in 2005-06 was (a) allocated to and (b) spent under the Building Schools for the Future programme.
- Answer

When the schools capital programme was set following the last spending review, some £2 billion was set aside for Building Schools for the Future in 2005-06. All of these funds have been allocated to BSF projects, and £166 million of unspent capital grant was carried forward to the current financial year.
